Want to join the Gimble family this semester?

Our next open auditions will be on January 8th from 5-6:30 pm, and 14th, 2022, from 12-1:30pm for University of Michigan students of all voice parts and all ages! Auditions will be held in-person at East Quad.

Auditions are low pressure and simple, and run around 6-8 minutes. Here's what you should expect coming in: 

 

• Warm ups - we'll warm you up and down just so we can get a sense of what your voice sounds like. 

• Tonal memory - we'll play a series of notes on the piano and you sing them back to us. 

• Sight reading - if you can do it, great! If not, don't be discouraged; some of Gimble's most successful members never knew how to sight read!

• Solo - this is your chance to show off your voice! Choose a verse and a chorus of any song that shows off your voice! 

 

After the preliminary auditions are complete, we will hold callback auditions. This is a way for us to gauge how your sound fits into our ensemble. Don't worry, you don't need to bring anything except yourself and your beautiful voice! Each year, we are amazed at the breadth of talent we see at auditions. We encourage EVERYONE to come out and show us what you've got - we'd love to have you as a part of our family!
